I made another batch of toffee tonight and used some of the 70% Belgian chocolate bar that I received from Bonnie Madre. I used this stuff instead of the milk chocolate chips that you made a nasty remark about on my webpage. This is much better. The candy is so blinkin' sweet that the dark chocolate is a nice accent. Thank you for badgering me again. Don't you love that I'm so agreeable? I made a second batch earlier, too. Toffee on the bottom, semi-sweet chocolate chips next, then sliced almonds. The sliced almonds make a very attractive "garnish" for the candy. In the next batch, I'll add a shot of almond extract to the toffee before pouring it. This recipe is really evolving!

Oh, Dear, that wasn't Margaret (the nice one), that was Resi, her Evil Twin, who left the nasty iNote. :o)

I had a pile of nut brittle shards that I was going to stir in at pouring. I forgot. I was forced to eat the shards out of hand. Oh, darn. Now, as much as I love almond extract, I don't see it here. At least not more than a whisper. Let us know how it turns out, eh? -- http://www.jamlady.eboard.com, updated 12-22-05
