Bear in mind that Kirkby Stephen station is well out of the town.

From the station head in either direction, SW gives the shortest road
walk to A683 and the FP passing Easgill Head towards Nateby turning S on
BW passing Wharton Hall and continuing generally S towards Pendragon
Castle at the minor road turn SW to pick up the BW crossing the railway
to High Intake and follow the outside of the wall which leads to a good
path, not on the map, onto Little Fell, The Nab and Wild Boar Fell.
There are tracks onto and off Swath Fell. For Garsdale Station perhaps
the best option is the road head at East House, Grisedale then the FP
across to East Clough. Alternatively descend to Lunds and use the path
across Garsdale Low Moor to get to the station.

The route is fairly straightforward in good weather, can be challenging
in mist/low cloud.

Have a look at http://www.thehelmets.co.uk - the last report is for
Wild Boar Fell.

FYI the whole of that route is OK for access.

We have one documented trip in that area that covers the WBF ridge to Kirkby Stephen, although it
was a backpack route, see

Well the whole area is CRoW open access land, so your only 'problem'
would be getting from the valley onto the hills - and there are plenty
of footpaths you can take.

I've lost count of the number of times I've walked in this area,
sometimes on foot6paths and sometimes not, and have never had any
trouble. There are all sorts of route possibilities, if you've not
been to the area before then your suggested idea is probably one of
the best.
