    I emerged from the pub last night to collect my trusty steed from its place
    strapped to the railings.

    Fear not, dear reader, it was still strapped to the railings.

    Unlock it, strap my rack pack to it, mount lights front and back and seek my
    bicycle clips from off of the handle bars.

    No bicycle clips.

    Some thieving chav has removed a set of 20+ year old, somewhat rusty (but of
    nice spring steel) bicycle clips.

    Left the HPX pump incautiously left on the bike but nicked the clips.

    Words fail -----

    I know for sure I have one 20+yo trouser clip that you could have if
    you really want that classic look. I should have a proper pair too,
    they'd be plastic coated though so not as authentic.

    You sure they weren't around your ankles all the time ?

    I returned to school one day from having taken my class, by train to
    London Bridge, then around HMS Belfast, lunch outside the GLA
    building, then into the Britain at War exhibition, and back on the
    train to find some horrid child had nicked my clips, which were on my
    bike's crossbar just outside reception. When I bent down to tuck my
    trousers into my socks to cycle home I found I was wearing the stolen
    items. They'd been around my ankles all day!!!
