I guess I have finally learned my lesson about using baking pans for roasting things. It just shouldn't be done.
Anyway, now I have a 9x13 metal baking pan which is rather thrashed and skanky. I would like to line it with foil before baking my shortbread bars, but I'm not sure if it's ok, meaning I'm not sure if the foil will cause the bars to cook faster or burn or some such. Any feedback? These are the bars:

I would think that foil would change the cooking process. I use parchment paper. It comes in a roll just like foil, wax paper, and cling wrap. It works well and doesn't change the cooking time or the product.

Can you use parchment paper instead? That'd be perfect. Reynolds makes some; I buy in bulk from KA -- http://www.jamlady.eboard.com, updated 12-1-05, Oodles of Noodles
