Sorry this is totally off topic. But for those following Zach Warren's
Unicycle escapades in Afghanistan and his build up to the 100mile
    record- check this out:
    http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=510195

This just convinced me that he's got a good chance of pulling off the
    100miler record.

    Go Zach!

  2. Great article! A three hour pace for a marathon shows a fair amount
of aerobic fitness and dedication which should certainly help with his
    100 mile attempt.

I know that running and unicycling both share the fact that energy
expenditure is required for movement (unlike bicycling when you have
moments you can cease expending energy while still moving).

I suspect the power requirements are different however. It seems to me
running would expend energy faster than unicycling. So this begs the
question, is running good cross training for unicycling?

Also, I suggest people read the article for what has got to be one of
the wierdest quotes from anyone (last line). Knowing some journalists
I wouldn't be surprised if it was out of context and misquoted 🙂
