  2. I have an afro, too, but only around the edges because I have a big
    bald spot on top, We call it the "Bozo The Clown Look". Well, anyway,
    I did some wind tunnel tests of my head with the afro and without, and
    found that my shaved head had a higher coefficient of drag than it did
    with the afro! Apparently the afro channels the air over the bald spot
    in a very efficient manner. So if you want to reduce your wind
    resistance, get a picture of Bozo the Clown and emulate it.

    You have discovered the principle that makes dimpled golf
    balls travel very much further than the old, smooth golf
    balls. All bodies moving through a fluid shed vortices.
    There is more energy dissipated in a few large vortices
    than in many more small vortices. Your clown cut generates
    small weak vortices, and your chrome dome generates large
    energy sucking vortices.
