about a year ago I was arguing with him about something, and was about to "challenge his identity"......anyway, I compared several of their posts, and there were a few that were identical; then they both had the exact same 10 day holiday in October last year

Sadly after comming home from a great ride on one of out beautiful 60 degree November cycling days in Denver, I came across this post.

It is always such a tragedy to loose one's life in such a senseless manner. I wonder if any other Denver cyclists or Denver area LBS's review this forum. A senseless loss such as this deserves a memorial ride to increase the awareness of not only the dangers of distractions while driving an automobile as well as the overall responsibility of sharing the road with each other.

Hopefully, some good cane come from this sad event!

Boudreaux, I hope your making that climb to the peak of Mt. Evans and enjoying the view!

Yes I fear it was Mr B also. If this is true then this forum will loose part of its soul and character with his passing.

I get so angry every time I see fools driving cars while talking on mobile phones and texting is much worse. I've learn't to be very cautious of anyone on a mobile driving a car whilst I'm riding. They're completely oblivious of whats going on around them and an absolute menace to everyone on or near the road. It's illegal here but so common that it is obviously not enforced enough.

Perhaps we should get more agressive in defending ourselves. I saw a bike rider kick the side mirror off a car that came a bit close changing lanes recently. Shocked me at the time but something has to be done to make some people wake up to their dangerous ignorant behaviour.

This is truly sad news.

It's such a strange feeling - although I didn't personally know Mr B and had never met him face-to-face, I feel quite numb at the moment. I'm sure a lot of other forum users will share these sentiments.

As I sit here crying, ironically on the 18th anniversary of my brother's death (hit by a car while riding his bike home from work), I realize that we need to make something of this.

I had already decided to organize a Ride of Silence in the Wilkes-Barre area this year in memory of my brother. I think that anyone who is so inclined should organize a ride in their area.

If you are not apt to organize one, then at least look for one to ride in!

Our fallen comrades deserve our attention!

Calling all Denver area cyclists!

This morning I gave already begun emailing all of the Denver metro area cycling advocacy groups wiith the thought of organizing a "Silent Ride" for our fallen comrade. Lets all takea moment and send an email to these groups to organize this. Lets all try to make someting good and lasting come from this tragedy.

It stuns me to read of a member of this board who was killed by the carelessness of a car driver. And the injustice that just because someone was killed, yet the driver will only be charged with a misdemeanor for being, "careless."

Although many of us made posts in response to what we saw as a caustic attitude I am sure we all feel the loss of someone who was a good person. He did not deserve his fate.

I find myself wondering if the charges would be the same if this person had killed another motorist, or even a pedestrian.

Attitude aside, he really knew his stuff. If there was a question I needed an answer to, I knew who I could count on to deliver it. While that delivery was not always pleasing, it was something I grew to forgive and even look forward to in certain cases.

I'll miss those responses.

I hope that they keep this in the FAQs in memory.
