I don't know the bikes, but you might help yourself by narrowing the question a little...
What are your goals for riding? What aspects are you curious about?
OK, I'll respond:
As Avanti is Aus/NZ only the posting would have received more attention in the Aus Forum.
Prima is a 7 speed Kids 650c bike, thats OK if you are under 5'. How old, tall are you?? Who is paying? MUM? Or your own money?? 😄 Is ths a first bike?
I recomend a first bike to be 8 speed as the components are cheaper, chains, RD, cassettes, normally entry level components, choose Shimano Sora or Alivio in 8 speed.

i'm close to 6 foot, and i'm paying, and yeah, it is a first bike. want to use it to get in shape, and eventually for both bike races and triathlons.
thanks,

Hi John,
Just need the location now.. 🙂
OK, for Tri and Road have a look at the Felt range:

Check with the Aus importer as to models imported. I can suggest a shop when I know where you are located.

I haven't ridden a Felt as yet, I want to, but try to find a shop that sells Cytek Massimos with Ultegra or Dura Ace and go for a wee ride. It will give you an idea what you can buy for a few grand. The carbon's pretty damn good for the price.

just to answer the loaction question, south east melbourne
Mates got a Avanti Kona. pretty nice bike. Got full 105 gear on it. After market carbon forks cos i think the ones that came with it were'nt that great but a relatively good bike.
I have been looking at bikes a fair bit recently due to buying one (not avanti) and with Avanti, i believe like a lot of brands, they are basically selling a very similar frame, sometimes the only difference is the paint work, with a bunch of shimano gear with generic brakes.

John, It may be worth a call to the importer for a Felt Brochure. I found them to be better handling than Avanti.
