    has anyone used one of those engine kits that fit on the rear wheel of a
    mountain bike? what are they like? any recommendations for makes/models
    etc?

    Aren't those called motor bikes? Doesnt this defeat the purpose of
    having a mtn bike?

    no not motorbikes, these things are engine kits that fit on the rear wheels
    of standard mountain bikes. yes, they're not going to get you fit, but i'm
    just curious as to what they're like - also they get round the tax/insurance
    issues of a motorbike...
