I'm new to the biking community and just bought my own (used) road bike yesterday! I got a 2001 GT ZR 4.0 and paid $350 for it.
My concern is that I cannot find any part specs for the bike, nor can I find any reviews for this model. I can see that it has a 105 derailleur in back and a Tiagra in front but other than this I'm not sure if my haste to finish searching for an affordable road bike just got me ripped off?

Any guesses?
http://www.sunbikeshop.com/GT/GTRoadZR40.htm Might have found somthing better for the same price, but not a rip off if it's in good shape. Web reviews are over-rated - write your own if you want at one of those sites.
I had a ZR 3.0 for my daily ride. It was full 105. It was a great ride, super stiff and responsive. It wasnt the lightest, but it got the job done. Unfortunately, I totaled it about a month or so ago. Id buy one again if that matters.
As far as I know, the 4.0 is the same if its got the 7000 aluminum. If you upgrade the components to 105, or higher, youve got yourself a good servicable ride that will serve you well.
