I was sleeping in my basement office last night (don't ask) and got an early awakening from the kids who decided to watch TV at 5:00 AM. Rather than yell, scream, and rant go back to bed I suited up, loaded the SS and went to Wharton SF. Parking lot was empty but it is Saturday in hunting season. I didn't care. In fact I was dressed in grey and black. Then a hiker told me it was "youth" day. Agghhhh!!! Kids with guns! Piney kids with guns, even worse! I didn't hear any gunshots where I was so I head up Quakerbridge road to the defunct smithville-Hammonton RR line that goes right through the largest state forest in NJ. It's on old glass/iron bog RR line that shut in the 70's and had saplings planted on both sides of the tracks, but they left the rails. On the side of it is some singletrack with whoopdeedoos. So I turned onto the trail and just kept going. It's flat and straight with some old rotting bridges crossing creeks. After a couple of hours I turned around and started back taking an old fire cut singletrack back to Quakerbridge. A nice long stress reliever. Which was good because then I had to take my son and three of his non-stop talking friends to the IMAX in King of Prussia, PA to see Harry Potter (good movie BTW). Of course, that meant an 1.5 hours of traffic each way there (should take 20 minutes each way), $65 in tickets for me and the kids, and $85 worth of concessions. So much for the stress relief. Thank god I'm riding again tomorrow.

As for the real reason: Let's just say that on work nights I sleep with ear plugs in my ears.

Ooohhh, *snoring*! Thought you meant something further south. ;-)
Oh God, no! I took my oldest there way back when. Very scary place! The whole park is built on asphalt (no grass at all). The park goers are even scarier. I think they bus in ghetto and barrio families, half of which don't speak English. The kids pee freely in the pools, too. There's all kinds of stuff growing on the bottom too. Even with the chlorine count so high it burn your skin, I still saw stuff growing.
My kid went into the ball pit and came out covered in black gooey grime. I shudder thinking about that experience.
