  1. looking to buy a new groupset and saw one for sale with 172.5 cm cranks and 'braze on' front derailer....(dura ace)

not the most equipment savy rider around...so what is the catch with the different crank length (I have 170) and the 'braze on' derailer

can you mechanics help me out?😕 :o

Crank length is well the length of the crank. Can't say what is right for you without knowing your body specs. Obviously 2.5mm isn't a huge difference and whether or not you can feel the difference has been debated endlessly here.

Braze on front def has no band and mounts directly to a field brazed on to the frame. Other option is you can get an adapter clamp (often used on larger diameter seat tubes).
