"This revolutionary new fabric also traps odor during physical activity. The odor is "adsorbed" along with bacteria and is only released during a normal wash and dry cycle, during which the carbon re-activates itself again for another ride."

How do you know when they need to be washed?

Maybe when the bacteria level reaches some critical point the jersey changes color. Or just bursts into flames...

Apparently, the jersey also 'activates' when the body heats up during exercise, so if you start leaving a green vapor trail behind you and the group surges past after your warmup then it might be time to give it a wash. 🙂

Yeah but see, my clothing decisions go something like this: pick up a jersey (usually on the bottom of a big pile in the closet), smell it, if it stinks wash it, if it doesn't stink put it on (sometimes this requires a half dozen or more iterations).

Oh, I agree. By the time it 'activates' your buddies are already screwed. 😄

At least it won't stink up the rest of the clothes while it's sitting at the bottom of the pile, or in my case, cause the wife to gripe about all the biking stuff drying out and stinking up the bathroom. 🙂

  6. Word to pick-and-smell.
Sure will be cool for when i have to stuff the jersey in my backpack when i get to work.

  7. This is a stupid marketing ploy.

All you have to do is add a little bleach in when you wash your smelly sports stuff and it will kill anything that regular soap won't.
