I have a bog standard Trangia and for trips where weight & compactness is important I want to make a potstand similar to the one that comes with the Mini Trangia to replace the Windsheild etc.

Any suggestions/links on doing a neat compact job of this and choice of material (is there something better than a bean can?)
Can you buy the mini trangia potstand as a spare part?
I have a pot stand made out of a wire coathanger that I use with my homemade coke-can meths burner. Weighs next to nothing, fits snugly in my pot and does a great job.
The mini trangia stand in no way acts as a wind shield - you'll still need one of those (I use the one for my petrol stove with my meths burner/coathanger stand)

I've discovered a second flaw of the bean can trangier. The 'standard' trangia base/windsheild form a carry case in which I can fit two knife fork spoon sets, coffee, tea bags, condensed milk, matches. The mini tangia pot stand eats space so although more compact I've then got to carry most of that stuff seperately. I reluctantly decided the tidiness of the original Trangia more that compenates for it's size.
