Seems when the Crusaders were attacking Jerusalem somewhere around 1100,
(just outside the wall) they captured a Moslem and stuffed him in a catapult
and hurled him over the wall. That was the first historical reference to
"live ammunition".

Israel and Palestine. How was elk hunting? Kill anything?

You guys are just intolerant hate mongers. All you want to do is kill
those poor [censored] [censored]. I say peace at all cost, even if it means
the annihilation of Western civilization. Or at least Hank.
Was thinkin' - mebbe Hank could demonstrate just how that original Moslem
was catapulted over the wall in Jerusalem. (just be a matter of raising the
money for his airfare.) -

He might like it. Neither of his bikes are *that* fast.
Though braking might be an issue ...

Not this year. It was pretty miserable out there. We camped out Saturday
night on the south side of Mt. St. Helens. That's when we started to get
those torrential rains. It snowed through the night, and rained through the
day. Everything was a cold muddy mess. We only saw cows and that area is 3
point or bigger. We stayed until Monday, and it was the same as Sunday, so
we decided to pack it up and call it a year. A buddy of mine flew in from PA
to go elk hunting, but that's the way it goes.Next year I'll be in Utah, so it should be better. I've been looking at a
cat hunt, as well. In Utah, they can use dogs, whereas here, they can't.
~$1000 for a guided cat hunt will be cool. If I can get the oldest to bring
his grades up from a B- to a B, I'll let him go.Did you get yours a 10/22?

his grades up from a B- to a B, I'll let him go.The major reason we have a shortage of deer and elk is because of the cat
population in WA and OR. When they took away the ability to use dogs,
everybody I know stopped hunting them. Cat populations in OR have gone
through the roof since. The current "low" estimate of cats within our state
is 12,000. The high estimate is 40,000. But just use the low estimate.
Each cat kills an avarage of 1 large game animal per week. So, each cat
kills 52 per year. On the low end, that's 624,000 per year. No wonder
there's no deer left. The elk have faired better than the deer, I'm
guessing simply because they are easier prey. Before the dog ban, the estimated cat population was 2,000 to 2,500. That
was about 10 years ago.Quoted message said:

I shopped the entire Portland area to find this left handed bolt action
Savage, with no luck. None in stock:http://www.savagearms.com/markiigl.htm
My other son already has a 10/22 and I wanted something different for this
little guy. And of course, being a left handed gun, I've got to special
order it. So, this will be his Christmas present. 🙂-Larry
