Hi all,
My name iis Jim
Just a short note to make my presence known. I am interested in Mt.
Biking and Skiing. I spend a great deal of time biking during the
spring, summer, and fall of the year. Skiing of course during the
winter.
Mt Biking has been my most recent undertaking ( started 2000 ) at the
age of 59. I find that I thoroughly enjoy the adventure of the sport
and get a thrill from some of the things and abilities that are
required. I ride with a group of people that are consideably younger
than my self. I am not the leader of the pack, but I am able to hold
my own....provided the climb isn't to steep or to long.
At present I am riding a Trek Liquid 20. Bought it may of last year.
This bike seems to work well for me.
One of the things that I hope to get from this blog is to meet people
of similar attitude and ability and interest. I plan to retire in about
16 months. If able, I would like to travel to different areas and
sample some of the local rides. After a good ride a good microwbrew is
always of interest. Microwbrews have also seem to have become a passion
for me.
I am not a hard core Mt. Biker, but I certainly understand the sport
and definately know what it's about.
The most frequent ride for me is at a place called Rocky Gap in Western
Maryland. I rate it as an intermediate as a technical ride and a low
intermediate for climbs. It's any where from 5 - 10 miles long
depending on how one wants to ride. It has roll overs, logs , rock
gardens, short steep climbs and a 2.5 mile climb to the top which I
have only done once.
That's all for now, and thaks for any feedback.
