  1. I know there was a discussion about people using Lipitor
or Zocor having muscle pains, etc. I saw alsandor and Ror in the
thread. I mention this because, in today's paper, was a
question from someone with the same side effects and
    were advised to take CoQ10.

The column was Herbal Pharmacy by Joseph Graedon
and Teresa Graedon. It's on this site:

I don't give medical advice, just passing along something that
might be of interest to help someone out.

That's very interesting, Nancy. I take lovastatin (Mevacor) and have
experienced some pains in my calves. This might be worth a try.

  4. I've been having some cramping in my legs and my doc recommended Q10..
Seemed an odd thing for an MD to suggest. I'm giving it a try and the
cramping seems to have improved a bit. I take Lipitor, but I've been
taking it for years with no problem.

  6. I don't know if CoQ10 helps simple muscle cramping. If it's only a symptom
of a spastic muscle, so be it.
The great worry about the adverse effect of any of the statins is
rhabdomyolysis, or breakdown of skeletal muscle, leading to death from renal
failure and other nefarious events. This will send you to your coffin, or
your cremation vase much more quickly than you were planning. The chief
symptom of this is muscle cramping, as well. If you are on a statin, and you
cramp, go to your doctor, and have him do the appropriate test[s] before you
    rely on something naturopathic.
The primary test you should ask for is the CPK.
