Well, I spelled it "trolling", but, yeah.

One March 31st I told my husband that I was going to put salt in the
sugar bowl for April Fool's Day. He laughed at me for telling him, I
mean, how stupid is that? I assured him that it was part of the joke,
because even though HE KNEW I was going to do it he was still going to
put salt in his coffee and therein lay my REAL joke.

He didn't check the sugarbowl before making up his coffee the next morning.

Calling "olly olly oxen-free" to trolls and having them show up is a
similar concept.
