  1. Deer firearms season opened Saturday but I couldn't go. I had to help
out at the Hudson Natural Open. It was a great meet, BTW. Anywho, I
think I'm overtrained from the Russian Front Squat routine and I
caught a bit of the flu so I didn't go hunting until this afternoon. I
spent Sunday, Monday and this morning sleeping.

So I get to where I hunt and unload my ATV. I saddle up with my
..30-06 in it's case and my .357 in my holster. I drive about 1.3
miles to my stand and get there at 1:37 PM. At about 4:50 PM with
daylight fading into night, I see some movement to the north of me
about 70 yards away. I put the crosshairs in the vicinity but don't
see anything through the thick brush and trees so I look above the
scope and see the deer about 10 yards west of where it was standing
previously. Now I'm tracking her through my scope but am only getting
about 6 inches of clearing at her end and nothing in the vitals.
Finally, she steps into a spot about 18 inches wide where I can see
her shoulder and neck. She takes one more step and "POW", I shoot her
low through the chest. She takes one step and drops like a ton of
    bricks...dead!

I had to explain to Buddy that "puppies" can't hunt deer earlier today
while I was getting ready. He was bummed out and knew he wasn't going
when I took the .30-06 out of the safe. But, he's happier than a lark
with that deer in my garage now. He's been basically giving me the
canine version of the "hell yeah!" ever since I pulled that deer out
of the back of my pickup. He even ate a little chunk of fat from the
abdominal area that I pulled out when cleaning her up with the garden
    hose.

Damn I love hunting. And, with the deer out of the way, Buddy and I
now have more time for bird hunting. Hell Yeah!

Maybe you should develop a deer hunting dog breed. Something that has a good
nose for tracking, does so silently, locates the deer, and then points.

Hmmm...cross a Dogo Argentino with a Pointer. Throw in a little Lab for
    general goofy friendliness.

The Hanson Dogointer. AKC acceptance pending.

Hanscums dog would hump the deers leg, like it does to him at home
    (even Hanscum needs love too)

No sheet! Maybe those punks were as scummy as Hanscum? No, not
    likely...

We aren't allowed to use dogs to hunt deer in Minnesota. But, the
    idea intrigues me.

Nope. I've killed enough bucks that it doesn't matter to me. I'm not
a trophy hunter for the most part. I hunt for meat.

So you get off on what happens come winter when deer overpopulate when
    hunting has been prohibited?

    Do you eat red meat?

think about those questions, and then decide just how big of a hypocrite
    you are.

    Cheers mate!

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Yes I do, the wolves and coyotes have a field day. Nothing goes to
    waste in nature.

    Of course I do.

No, dogs have worms, and trust me on this, they're no fun...

Surprising as it may seem to you, a great many locales have no wolves
and coyotes. The deer die horribly of starvation.

No [censored] [censored] tracey? You know why? They have no food, leave the deer
alone and they would. But there are dozens of animals and parasites
who feed on the carcass too, so they aren't the only ones who benefit.

    Quoted message said:

So you hire people to cram animals into pens and load them full of
chemicals and then slaughter them in the cheapest possible way for mass
distribution...but you get on someone elses case for not being such a

No I don't hire them to do that, their employer does. Christ you are
    infinitely stupid.

You must be very happy then. You and Hanscum should get married.
