It mentions this suace only in the context of cooking soybeans (which I can't eat due to some sort of food sensistivity) and chicken feet (which I haven't quite got up the courage to try).
I bought a bottle of it because the packaging was so beautiful and the ingredients list so incredibly uninformative: water, less, spice, salt. I wonder what "less" was intended to mean. Also, for only $1.99 it was well worth the money to satisfy my curiosity.
Note: The page is japanese, even though it does talk about shanghai cooking. Unfortunately, my japanese is not quite good enough to give you the recipes :-).
