Oh well, I've a good run on my Fondriest which was taken from my garage the other night as well as our lass's brand new Giant Expression. 10000 miles of happy memories :-) Sod's law dictated that it had been into the LBS for new bar tape, chain, cassette and headset the very day before. Only positive thing was that I wouldn't have ridden it until next spring, so it's not as if I'm not losing out ride wise. Ebay has turned up something very tasty though, so I might be back in business soon. Commuting to work on a Decathlon Sora bike with aerobars.

That would make some people very suspicious about the staff at the LBS.
Her Giant cost 260 quid and will be covered by the contents insurance - mine was worth a bit more than the 500 quid per bike ceiling, so whatever replacement bike I get won't be the same. Cheers, Simon

Sounds like she'll have to wait for her Giant to be replaced then ;-)

They didn't have my address, only my phone number and name and I'm ex-directory.

One of my younger and better looking colleagues has just had her new bike stolen from outside of her dwelling. Outside being three stories up in a block of flats, locked to the outside balcony and whilst she was at home! The little sods were seen by a neighbour as they reached the ground with it a cycled off - damn if they didn't take the lock as well to add insult to injury.

Terrorists clearly. Stealing materials for a bike bomb. Massive resources and the full force of anti terror legislation must be applied.

It's not hard to find your address, Simon. I mean, ISTR you posting it here (in a roundabout fashion) at least twice, and you give so many clues on your website ... you're not exactly hiding away.
Your phone number can give a general locality, then a quick look in the electoral register might pinpoint a street at least.
