Compared to other bike forum. If you ask a bike realated question here, you get no response😕 .

The "other" bike forum?? If you've only found one, you need to get busy - there are many, many other bike forums. This forum's only problem is the same as you will find in any internet help forum. You will find certain induhviduals who are convinced that they are the worlds foremost experts on all things under the sun - despite the fact that no one has ever heard of them.

What bike related question did you ask that you got no response to? Sometimes there is no response because no one has an answer.

This is a forum site rather than a forum.
At certain times it is quiet, because people are asleep, working or out riding bikes. A question asked on Saturday morning will not necessarily be answered on the same day.
Aluminium frames are built stiff, because they have to be. Aluminium is not resiliant like steel, so a "soft" frame will fatigue and not last very long.
Make sure that you are posting in the right forum, and be patient, if you ask a question about a bike that few people ride then answers will be infrequent.

  7. Sorry, we already have all the answers and assumed eveyrone else did.

  8. Waaaaaaaaa...

    which ones?

    I only know of

    Bike Forums
    Cycling Plus Forum
    Weight Weenies Forum
    Serotta Forum
    Road Bike Review Forum
    & Bicycling Forums (http://forums.bicycling.com/index.jspa?categoryID=1)

I usually only bother with the this one and Bike Forums, then I'll pop onto Serrotta if I'm bored or injured....like now

Are there any other busy forums?

Well, the mother of all bike forums would be http://groups.google.com/group/rec.bicycles.tech?lnk=lr
-- better known as "r.b.t." - it's Usenet based, but accessable from Google Groups.

Sheldon Brown and Jobst Brandt are among the regular contributors there. It's a very contentious forum, but there are some real experts there.

A simple Google search will turn up many more(I just got 2,000,000+ hits - is that enough?). A nice bike mechanics forums is at the bike school site:

    http://www.bikeschool.com click on "Tech Forum"

  11. thanks

so, that makes 8 forums 😉 :p ..although, the rec.bicycle one is on here somewhere

I'm sure there are plenty of others, but they're probably the type that get a post once a week. 🙂

  12. I like this forum. For the most part it's civil and the members are more knowledgeable and educated than at bikeforums.net. I got so disgusted with the tards over there that I haven't even lurked in months. Bah!

    Typical Bikeforums.net user...
"Can I put XT components on my 10 year old Trek 820 MTB? Huh? Can I? Can I?"

Edit: I take that back. I just logged on over there. But it was for the sole purpose to invite someone over to join this forum. 😄 Sheldon Brown does post in the equipment forum at BikeForums but that's about the extent of the goodness. The rest is badness. :o

Well the OP, I believe was known as sincitycycler in Bikeforms.net, and he has just been banned from there because of his overall intolerance and general lousy behaviour. I had him on my ignore list over there so I may have to do the same here. The guy is an idiot and I don't usually resort to name calling.

Dr Morbius, you are right, bikeforums has quite alot of juvenile nonsense going on in there lately, but there are still some, in fact, most very good and knowledgeable members. I am a relative newbie and have been helped quite a bit....there and here.

    Cheers,

    Brian

you got a few smart-asre comments in reply to a couple of your threads; did that [censored] you off? If so, fair enough; who needs it? But apart from that, unfortunately, this forum just isn't anywhere near as busy as bikeforums.net. If you posted over there, you would've got a dozen hits in the first half hour. 🙂

My apologies to you and I stand corrected.
