I was watching this show on PBS, "Adirondack outdoors" and it was about cycling in the lake placid area and how great it is. It's beautiful around there, of course. But I couldn't help noticing that a lot of these guys were wearing really old helmets and jerseys and their bikes looked pretty dated. I thought maybe they're hicks! or they're into vintage.
But then at the end of the show it showed that it was made in 1985! NO wonder! I guess the scenery hasn't changed that much in the area since then, so they figured why not show it. Who'll know anything about bikes? LOL.

hahah... true. Well, that's the thing about 'nature' shows. You can show nature documentaries about Algonquin park or whatever from 1985 and the park itself hasn't changed much. However, things like clothes and technology change. It was quaint, anyways, and of course, it really is beautiful around the Adirondacks.
If they want me to pledge, showing Sarah Blightman, Yawni and Andre Peeyew concerts is not the way to get my attention.

My tax dollars help pay for that; it isn't exactly free. It sounds like it got the job done.

It was actually ten times better than the horrendously embarrassing coverage on CBS of the Tour, or NBC's coverage of the Iron man triathlon. At least it didn't condescend to the audience, even if some of the people interviewed seemed a bit gooby.

Wow, does anybody still watch PBS? They have a political agenda about a mile wide, but are very skilled at trying to disguise it, and make it appear that they are objective. I am really tired of their intellectual dishonesty, so I don't watch them anymore. Remember, their idol Bill Moyers was LBJ's press flack who concocted the Gulf of Tonkin incident out of whole cloth and got us into Vietnam. Now he tries to pretend he had nothing to do with it.

My first vacation with my husband was in 1973 with my husband. I was a little more adventurous back then....we went to the Adirondacks and Ausable Chasm was the first thing we expored on our adventure. It was so much fun and amazing to hike, crawl through and raft through. I went back around 1987 to show the kids, and the only difference in the pictures from the first trip to the next trip is our style of clothes, the color of my hair and the fact that I was with three kids. It was fun the first time, not so much fun the next time.......so in the years following I took the kids to milder places like Buskill Falls in PA to walk the Red trail with their father while I shopped in the gift stores. Boy have I changed....only the adirondacks stayed the same. I'm sure if I took another trip....it would look exactly like the scenery in 1973. Maggie

I watch certain shows that are aired on PBS. I don't "watch PBS." I'm not sure I've ever seen Bill Moyers. It's possible that The Victory Garden is intellectually dishonest, but you're going to have to explain it to me a little better how.
