Up to now I was into intense training. Half of my sets where to failure, the other half were drop sets, forced reps etc. Somehow I had problems increasing my bench press since last winter. And recently I have a feeling I am not that strong. (but this is after a cutting phase, I have a knee injury etc etc).
So I am reading the e-book: Stuart McRobert - Beyond Brawn, The Insiders Encyclopedia on How to Build Muscle & Might.pdf. More or less it says to WO 2, at most 3 times per week. Plenty of rest etc etc. I am going to give it a try. What do you think?

It's part of a larger picture. Frequency is only one aspect of tailoring your training to your individual needs and goals.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor: http://www.abmdr.org.au/ http://www.marrow.org/

I think you have to ask yourself why old Stuart never looked good nor trained any top bodybuilders.

You may well be amazed at the difference getting comparatively a lot more rest will give you in gains. Less is sometimes more. You have to remember that you're still bodybuilding when you're lying in bed asleep.

I think you have to ask yourself why old Stuart never looked good nor trained any top bodybuilders. <<<< I am not a pro. I want to gain size and strength. And with my 19% of bodyfat I feel very comfortable. I Do not ever want to go lowe than 15% bf. I never want to take steroids/drugs/hormones and I do not care about competition.
So maybe McStuarts training is better swited for me.

I have 19% BodyFat. I like it. Maybe I can go as low as 15-17%. Not less. I am 5 feet 7". Weight 76 Kgr. My max bench press was 110 kgrs (when I weighted more than 83 Kgrs). My max body weight was 85,5 kgrs.
I went through a cutting period in the summer. I lost very much fat. But now maybe I can lift 95-100 kgrs in bench press.

I have his book on lifting technique and the guy knows what he's talking about. Doesn't mean that his opinion on regimen will suit everyone, but I think getting plenty of rest between workouts is good advice.

There are a thousand good programs out there, and a million bad one. Pick a good program, try it, and see how it works for you. One can manage to gain on almost any schedule as long as you don't overtrain and eat enough.

In later years he became much more flexible about the number of sessions per week and split routines.
