  1. Three days into a long-term loan to a friend whose flat is too small to
contain a cumbersome, my Brompton was stolen last night outside the Centre
Pompidou in central Paris. I'm posting here reasoning that it's probably as
likely to end up in London as anywhere else (and because even
otherwise-useless activity has some therapeutic value). Apologies to those
BromptonTalk and fr.misc.transport.velo readers for whom this is a
    repetition.

The bike was essentially an L3, with the addition of a Schlumpf Mountain
Drive two-speed bottom-bracket-mounted gearbox. It had a folding pedal on
the left, a Shimano M515 SPD on the right, a red clip to prevent the rear
triangle folding, a front luggage block, gold Dia Compe PC7 brake levers,
    and a 20-spoked steel-hubbed front wheel.

    Picture here:

The seatpost and saddle had been removed prior to the theft.

I'll be overcome with astonished delight if anyone can furnish news of its
    whereabouts. Reply-to adress is valid.

    Thanks,

    James Thomson
