This was a month or so ago, but while we were in Harlech we noticed the road labelled 40%, Unsuitable for Motors. So we rode it :-)
Actually, we didn't make it in one go - cleared most of the steep bit then lungs exploded. When we got our breath back, the rest was fine. But it was incredibly hard work, even with the 19.5" gear. (Tandem, so at least no problems with the front wheel lifting - I think that stopped our companion. It was the only hill we did faster than him on the entire holiday..).

Hi, I think I know the road you mean. I came down it one year during the 'Wild Wales Challenge'. I was on my touring bike and I did wonder if I'd stop at the bottom.
