  1. Just lower your carbs and start over. Start exercising. You don't need
tips and encouragment, you need to decide to "just do it."

  3. Try eating less and exercising more.

It helps to understand that you are in a virtual "war" with weight.

Less than 5% of dieters can lose major weight (say 50 lbs) and keep it off.

You lost almost 50 lbs, and kept it off for a year, you say.

Then, you forgot that you were at war with weight, and slowly lost the
    battle.

You will probably always need to keep the weight loss army ready to do
battle, and never believe that the weight conflict is over.

    3) Don't Diet Without Supplimental Nutrients... Chapter 23 title, Atkins

    4) A sensible eating plan, and follow it. (Atkins, Self Made or Other)

    I decided that I'm on a lifestyle not a diet. I came
to understand that my choices range from butch-up
    through quit-and-regain-it-all-and-more, and that
those form the extremes of a range not an
all-or-nothing choice. I got into the habit of
thinking that on-plan is simply the right way to eat
and any time I spend off-plan is a mistake not a return
to the way I want to eat.

I've ended up wandering up and down about half way
between my original starting weight and my best loss.
Why? Because that's the point where the best health
benefits that I value the most are. Allowing myself
to drift higher means back spasms, snoring and such.
Driving myself lower means extra effort in exchange
for looking better but very little extra health
gains. It's an ugly compromise that works for me.

You did it once therefor you know with cetainty you
can again. But it is so easy to remember how easy
it gets later on and forget the commitment it took
    early on.

It's amazing how tempting temptation is ;^)

Twelve step plans have a saying that applies here "Keep
coming back. It works if you work it." We don't need
physical meetings to be able to apply that bit of wisdom.

Roger Zoul already did an amen and I repeat that here.
Since I've ended up maintaining half of my best loss, I
tend to think in terms of a siege. The invading army is
out there and they will be forever; all I need do is let
them in and I've lost another campaign.

Most signatures should be trimmed out of replies. A few
great signatures are worth keeping just for the sake of
repeating their wisdom so a little bit more of it seaps in
    on each repetition.
