i like the idea of the trike BUT they leave a lot to be desired in the
legal and design side
all the riders illustrated have no helmets 🙁
and i can just imagine the kids trying to jump out of the unrestrained
box at the front

id guess it would be in the illegal and unregisterable catagory like
the segway (theres a disaster looking for a place to happen)

'cos it's made in the Netherlands, where their very capable law-makers see
no need to restrict cycling and make the roads more dangerous by mandating
the wearing of helmets. It's your choice there, and most people choose to do
without a helmet. Guess what? The rate of cycle journeys for transport is
one hell of a lot higher in the Netherlands (and most of Europe, where
helmets are also not compulsory) than here in 'safe' Australia.

I can't see any reason why it would be illegal. There are already some
rickshaw-type trikes and some pedal-ice cream vendors about that I seem to
recall seeing. As for registering a tricycle ??? What country do you live
in?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing about restraining the littlies (my
varmints would be hanging over the sides in all of 5 seconds...), but I
thought the concept/design was ok and not completely butt-ugly really. One
way around getting kids to local parks or down to the local shops etc. But
on the other hand it's too big and too slow for both roads and bike paths,
so fairly limited in where it can be used and how to get it there, and that
steering mechanism sticking out of the bottom could get damaged easily.
I'm also looked at it thinking about fuel prices and transporting bulky
goods over short distances but there's already more suitable alternate
transport almost at the production stage for those sorts of applications. eg
Compressed air motors.

Naah, never too slow. Tooslow only applies to wedgies where you
wobble/fall over when you go too slow.
