    Any advice much appreciated....

    I am a complete beginner, looking to purchase a reasonable road bike just to get started.

    I have been offered a 'Scott AFD 209' roadsport bike, with Shimano RSX brakes and integrated gear shifts, and ovalised frame.

    The bike is obviously a few years old and therefore I cannot get any information to guage what would be a fair price to pay!... If anyone has any knowledge of the Scott AFD series please could you advise.

    The aksing price for the bike is £180, does this sound fair?

    Many thanks in advance, and apologies if this post is a little trivial for the board!!
