27.4 CARBON seatpost???

I doubt you can get a 27.4 to 27.2 shim...that'd be pretty thin!

Can sides are ~0.254mm thick. Sand it down a bit and give it a whirl.
Might have to shim just 1/8th of one side (preferably the side with the
notch).

Have you determined that with a micrometer? My experience with cans seems
to indicate that a) various sizes/shapes and even brands of cans are
different thicknesses and b) the thickness varies from the top to bottom.
Or, wait, are you talking about alu soda cans, or about actual tin cans
for vegetables and stuff?

I don't know anything about them. Be sure to look at the various
models.
Another thing to remember, if the post is a lot longer than needed,
you can cut it off. Easton, used to and probably still has a tutorial,
on cutting carbon fiber. I shortened my Easton EC70, as it was a 350mm
and I didn't need that length. I bought the longer one, because I got
a real good deal on it.

By the way, I found this info by Googling, using "carbon seatpost
27.4".

Use a shim.

A shim that thin is likely to deform and possibly not provide enough
support, particularly for a carbon seatpost. That assumes going from 27.2 to
27.4, but you could use a smaller seatpost and thicker shim with no problem.

Hopefully the website is newer because the 2005 catalogue does not
show that they offer 27.4 mm seatposts.
