Check out 5k, 10k world rec holder Kenesia Bekele's typical training week:
http://wls3.com/running/logs-bekele.php
My favorite is the 3 hours in the forest at 5:40/mile. (32 miles!)
And don't forget the 800m repeats in 1:57 (1:04 followed by a :53)...6 times.
Think this guy could run a marathon? My old Gardner/Purdy tables predict a 2:02 based on a 26:20 10k, fwiw.

I wonder what "easy" means for him. Also noticed a good deal of stretching in there!

If I had to guess, I'd say 6:00 is easy, and 6:30 is very easy. He probably starts out much slower, though.

I'd think that 3 hours would include a warmup and cooldown. So, maybe it's actually less than 32 miles. Not that it really matters, especially at that level.
Btw, Ed Whitlock runs 2-3 hours every day, albeit at a slower pace.

I evaluate such things by comparing his 10k pace to his workouts: He does something like 4:15 for a 10k (!), and his "easy" 31 miler is at 90 sec/mile slower.
I can't manage that small a difference in pace regularly, but he *is* the best in the world. He would have doubled at the olympics 5&10k if El G, too had to run a 10k a few days before, and not just a 1500.
