Mapping software accuracy ????

I suggest you try a shorter route as a test. Something that long is too
prone to placement of waypoints. Choose something short, with very
definite waypoints.

I'd be keen to test it against Anquet - any Memory Map/Tracklogs users
want to volunteer?

I tried to be as accurate as possible and this is the result of the Dutch
jury :
The points in Anquet are :
starting point NN 57240 32865 (Killin centre)
flat lenght 57,33km
hidden lenght 57,44km
max.height 560m
min.height 107m
ascended 1337m

On the map there are 2 possibilities near the Loch Lyon Powerstation. I
followed the path/road nearest to the dam. Don't know about any gates that
might be closed on this semi-private road.

Thanks, but I want THAT route tested, against my bike computerand Geko GPS.

Superb Sir ! Exactly what I wanted.

Ascended 1837m in fugawi. Looks likeit's still exagerating the ht gain/ascent.

As you descend towards Glen Lyon the hydro tarmac rd bears right toward a smallholding
and cattle grid, puncture there at easter. The dam rd cuts back left and up.

A brilliant road cycle, three cars all day and magnificent scenery, open views from the
Lyon rd.
Brilliant alpine gradient climb up to Lawers.

Nick - Out of curiosity, what height gain did the GPS indicate? - and
did you have WAAS mode on or off? I've been getting some horrendous
inaccuracies and then realised that WAAS was switched on.

You already know of course, but.... be carefull cycling down to Loch Tay
from Ben Lawers VC. The road in the final part in the litle wood is narrow
and cars (drivers e.g) can drive like maniacs to avoid other cars (and hit

Yeah, done all the Munros up there and Glen Lyon so know how dodgy that stretch is.

The rd was lethal Monday, loads of pine needles, leaves and wet.

My mate ahead, missed the turning.
