Yes. I'm not usually a fan of football movies but this one was a lot
better than expected. Billy Bob Thornton was good in it. Definitely
worth a rental.

Yes. I'm not usually a fan of football movies but this one was a lot
better than expected. Billy Bob Thornton was good in it. Definitely
worth a rental.
Thanks - me as well about football movies - they are generally corny -
haven't seen a movie with Thornton that I didn;t like however

Thornton's was a stellar performance. What amazed me more than anything is
how big high school football is in the USA or at least in Texas - 55000 at
the Huston Astrodome for a highschool state championship game - could not
be far off any average college or pro game

Last year's championship game was played at Texas Stadium and drew
27,000 in what was essentially a home game for the champions. "That"
Permian/Carter game was a semifinal game played in the rain in Austin
and no doubt had far fewer fans.
Makes sense - (so much for the 'true story' nonsense advertised for the
movie)
