curious directions

I see two things going on there:

1) at the parking lot "intersection" in the lower left of the
diagram, the southbound-ish through lane leads right into
the northbound-ish left turn lane.

2) the upper right of the diagram shows a right turn arrow
pointing at a non-existant or blocked-off entrance.

That is just off the diagram. There is another entrance/exit there which
has it's own curiosity come to think of it. It is a 4 way signalled
intersection with the opposite side from the mall's entrance/exit being a
similar entrance/exit to a retail plaza.

Many people drive straight through going to/from the mall and plaza but the
two exiting mall lanes are marked right turn only and left turn only.

afternoon there ;-)

I gotta remember to see "Worst Canadian Driver" (or

It sorta reminds me of an old cartoon I once saw, a parody on the driving of
the Golden Spike at Promontory, Utah.

In the cartoon, the left-hand rail (looking east) of the eastbound track is
pointed neatly at the left-hand rail (looking west) of the westbound track.
Guys are standing around scratching their heads.

BTW, if anyone's familiar with that cartoon and has a link to it, I'd like
to plagiarize it for a Power Point presentation I have to give once in
awhile, where now I have a sign that says, Ready, Fire, Aim.

Funnily, this happens a lot in the city of Atlanta. They make up for it
by painting a (now badly faded) dashed line diverting you over to where
you should be (assuming the drivers in the turn lane did in fact turn).
Never a dull moment here...
