    A Poet's Mind,

    Tender shrine, of Delphic descent,

Spun unto the air, his prosperous spin,
    Unscrews

    Around sound, uncorks your vision,

In August I attended a Sunday morning Mass in honor of Our Lady of
Knock, sponsored by the Ancient Order of Hibernians. There was even a
    bagpiper playing.

  13. ~ * The Dogs of New Orleans
    Bark in The Dark ~

    O,
    Do you hear ~ ?

    The Dogs of New Orleans
    Bark in The Dark ~

    O,
    Do you hear,
    Do you dare go near,
    Do you dare to answer,
Do you dare to really see

    Such mournful cries
    And wails ~ ?

  14. O, do you hear, do you see
The dogs of New Orleans bark hopelessly
Calling you and me ~ ?

    Swirling delta, draining round,
Washing out to sea, barking, wailing sounds,
    The pleading, entreating begging barks
    Of bloody canines

Left all alone In New Orleans, drowning dogs
    Barking in the dark ~

    Bark or whine
    Bark or whine
    Bark or whine
    Bark or whine
    Bark or whine ~ ?

    Cry out in pain,
Or silently watch the rain ~ ?

    Such mournful cries
    And wails ~ ?

The dogs of New Orleans hurt,
The dogs of New Orleans cry out,
The dogs of New Orleans cry real tears.
The dogs of New Orleans bear clouds

    In their eyes,
    Their hearts realize
    Their insanity laid upon them,
    Their owners left them.

O, The Dogs of New Orleans
    Bark in The Dark,

    Cry mournfully out,
    Water, water, everywhere, swim out,
    Or drown ~

This land, no longer a town,
    But a torrential flooded plain,
A stagnant sea, flooded with blood and pain ~ !

    Bark or whine
    Bark or whine ~ ?

Or silently watch the rain ...

Or silently cry more tears in pain ...
