  1. Did my now regular Tuesday 45-miler. Don't know why, but today it felt hard!
Certainly my average mph dropped from 14mph down to 12.5mph. The temperature
was fine, wind not too bad, but somehow, today it felt harder than normal.
    BAH!

    Tomorrow is a mere 16-miler 🙂

    Cheers, helen s

I cycled to Downham Market station yesterday (75km round trip) as part
of a trip Londonwards to see a client. Coming home, up the incline from
Drymere to Swaffham was Hard Work at 8pm after a day in the Smoke.

This Commuting-With-A-Bike takes some getting used to! On the way home,
all the bogs on the train were out of order, and the station was all
locked up, so I had to change from suit to cycling gear in Tescos
    (Downham) bogs!

It's October. My legs turn to mush in October and don't recover until
April. Daylight hours or something, reminds me that I am in fact an animal.

It's all fantastic. 45 mile avg 14mph is a great speed!

I think my clock must be out. Must admit that my latest clock doesn't stop
when at rest. That bugs me. Waiting at lights etc, it's still averaging my
ride. I bought a cadence one from my LBS, and it seems to forget that I'm
not a time triallist. I end up with 'E'. I keep forgetting to turn off the
    measuring when I stop.

Ta, muchly. Cycling with Nathan over the summer holidays got my average
speed up from 11mph to over 14mph over 50 miles. What was a gentle pootle
for him would be a good workout for me. We did this on the days when his
training required gentle spinning, so it worked well for both of us.

Eventually got Nathan's HAC4+ to work in terms of downloading info to
computer. Interesting to see all the data with cadence, HR, speed... he is a
    time triallist ;-)

Have you got your nutrition sorted out? If you're otherwise well and bonked
that badly its usually a sign of not enough carbs.

Can't say I bonked, as I didn't feel as if I couldn't go on. It was just a
case of it being a bit harder than normal. As someone who *adores* carbs, I
don't have a problem eatring carbs - porridge is my friend - one of my
problems is keeping away from too many carbs ;-)

I envy you - I haven't had that experience since I had surgery. Oh, you
mean *that* kind of hard. That's just pay back for those rare wonderful
rides when it feels like you have no chain.

I'm feeling (more than usually) slow today* - you'll have to explain.

    * - On Monday I had some blood drawn. As the medical technician was
extracting it, I asked her "Why do you have a little lapel badge shaped
like a vampire, d'oh, never mind." So maybe it's not just today. FWIW,
she only wears it in October, for Halloween, so the question turned out
to be somewhat worth asking after all.
