  3. My reply was mostly about chelation therapy and its past uses.
Yes, Jan, it is rather understudied.
I guess that makes it a bit unproven, especially since it fell out of use
    for such a long time.
It was used extensively in America and England for treating people with
    heavy metal poisoning.
Later it was apparently briefly used to treat radiation victims.
But the only source I could find only mentioned that it was used.
There was not enough information to tell how well it worked.
In fact there isn't a lot of information to tell how well it worked back in
    the 1930's.
An individual came to me and asked if I had ever heard of it.
Since I grew up in the oil industry I had heard of it but did not know very
    much about it.
With the brief time I've had to research it I don't have a lot of
information to make good judgements about its usefulness.
In recent years certain alternative medical practitioners have revived this
    treatment for various ailments.
In the midwest there are few locations where it is being used.
I've tried contacting the few places I could find listings for.
I haven't had any returned calls.
If this treatment actually worked as suggested it would be very helpful for
    a number of ailments.
If anyone has actual knowledge of how this treatment is administered and
what tools or chemicals are used it would be appreciated.
Other than that I would like to see some kind of study done on this.
How else can we make qualified judgements about submitting ourselves or our
    loved ones to this treatment?
In deference to your original post about detoxification I would expect there
are several different methods to do this.
I suppose each type of polution in the body might require a different
    detoxification treatment.
That may be why the other poster stated that detoxification seemed to be
    useless.
It was suggested that you go once for treatment and you feel better for a
    while.
Then you feel bad again and have to go back for another treatment.
This is the complaint many people have with chiropracters.
I submit this thought to you.
You go for detoxification and you feel fine for a while then begin to feel
    bad again.
When you return for another detoxification perhaps a different treatment
should be administered to remove a different toxin.
If you had multiple toxins in your body it might require a different type of
    treatment to remove each one.
There might not be a silver bullet that would get all the toxins at the same
    time.
So multiple treatments might not be just a way to get more money out of a
    patient.
It might actually be required in order to cure a person of everything that
    was ailing them.
I suppose an exhaustive study on all the different detoxification treatments
and what each does would be best.
Do you have any of that information?

    Thanks,
    Jesse

    Thanks,

I have posted studies on chelation. I had mercury poisoning from amalgams. I
did oral chelation. A good CRA will treat one layer at a time. Yes it does take
multiple treatments. These toxins can't be elmimated in one visit. This is used
as an excuse by those fighting it. Detoxing takes a long time depending on what
    is giving the problem.

I alos spoke with people at the Florida Institute of Health in Clearwater who
were doing it as well as several people in our winter home park, who were
having it done. There is also good information in Dr James Carter's book.
Racketeering in Medicine, including a senator who used it and it saved him from
    bypass surgery.

Here are a few links that may help.

Also, since you are new here, there is a group who automatically puts down any
and all alternative medicine not endorsed by *organized medicine*.

Thus the flame wars, which hinder a real discussion.

    Best to you.

In deference to your original post about detoxification I would expect there
are several different methods to do this.
I suppose each type of polution in the body might require a different
    detoxification treatment.
That may be why the other poster stated that detoxification seemed to be

chelation is very effective in removing heavy metals...this HAS been studied

  8. Jan,

Thank you for all of the information.
I have saved it and I will follow through on it.
I worked in the oil field for many years and began to develope a host of
    illnesses.
I was diagnosed with crude oil poisoning.
That is a rather broad diagnosis, like post traumatic stress disorder.
(For brevity's sake) C.O.P and P.T.S.D. can have a wide range of causes and
    a wide range of symptoms.
But the fact remains you feel sick and it takes time for someone to figure
    out why.
My friend came to me and offered the information he had about chelation
therapy because he believed it would help.
I believed him due to something I underwent about a year ago.
My wife and I went to a detoxification demonstration at a chiropracter's
    office.
He was aware of my history and insisted I be a demonstration patient in his
    class.
So my wife and I allowed him to do a detoxification on us.
Her water stayed almost clear until just before the end (about 30 minutes).
However, my water got really dark right off.
It developed foam on the water of various colors.
    Actually I was rather concerned.
He checked both of us and stated that my wife had apparently lived a fairly
    healthy life.
I on the otherhand had a multitude of problems.
He began to expound on the various colors of the foam and what each meant.
He began to list all of the toxins that are commonly found in crude oil.
I thought "okay, he knows I worked in the oil field and he's just using that
    knowledge as a guide."
But then he began to say that I showed signs of aluminum and copper
    poisoning.
I had never previously mentioned to him anything about those.
For a period of time I worked in a warehouse handling huge rolls of aluminum
    and copper wiring.
Obviously through friction some of the aluminum and copper was rubbed off
and became dust that got everywhere.
I must have absorbed enough of that dust either by skin contact or breathing
to show up in his detoxification.
There was no way for him to know that, though.
I have since had a handfiul of treatments but due to the costs had to stop.
I thought that was where it would end until recently when some friends
    introduced me to some information.
It is still rather early to state without fear of contradicting myself that
    I am doing better.
    But, I do feel better.
Now, having done some research on chelation therapy and the information I
have gotten from you, I'm seriously considering beginning this treatment.
My Grandmother said the truth is not often to be found in one place.
Often pieces of it will come to you from many sources and it is up to you to
put it together for your edification.
So again I thank you for your information.
And I thank you for listening.

In fact there isn't a lot of information to tell how well it worked back

  10. Look into L-Methionine and L-Cysteine for metal chelation. It is much
cheaper for you to buy and take orally. I am not sure exactly which metals
which supplement takes out. This takes months of supplementation but you may
feel the difference. be careful. calcium and magnesium are metals too and
will get depleted. You may need supplements along with L-Lysine to
    metabolise them efficiently.

    other problems appear.

I am sure if you do some chelation research online you will find many
