  1. Tested the pole on a soggy bimble up Kinder Scout yesterday. I needed it
    too, what with wet, slippery rocks and me being a clumsy oaf. By the
    stiffness in my right arm I can tell it was getting a work out. (Oi, no
    smutty remarks there at the back.) I'll have to get another one or I'll
    end up being lop-sided.

    You should've said you were going to be there. I was just a few miles
    away, getting soaked around Hope and Edale.

    We started at Edale, at the pub that claimed to be the official start of
    the Pennine way. Going there was a last minute thing, we'd originally
    planned to go to the Glyders but the weather forecast for that area was
    even worse.

  4. Hey great to hear your "pole test" report. I agree. Two is better than
    one, but it does not always seem that way at the start of the trail.
