Robots ride bikes too

    I wouldn't say he's cheating. Let's just say it takes about 2 weeks to
    learn to ride a bike without training wheels trying two hours a day
    (random numbers) It took me one week to learn to track stand longer than
    2 minutes...I admit, I was really excited about the fixie and practice
    about an hour per day. So that's 30 hours total.

    How long would it take to learn all of the engineering disciplines that
    go into making the robot? Then, how about designing it and building it
    (an iterative process, I'm sure) until it works?

    I'm definitely the cheater 🙂

    That's a bizarre attitude to take. A robot cheating? It's a machine.
    The objective was to demonstrate balancing technology, not it's ability
    to learn muscular coordination like a human.

    2 weeks is a long time. I taught 2 kids in the last year, and one the
    year before that. A few days with training wheels, then take the wheels
    off and lower the seat and tell them that their feet are the only things
    that will save them. A few more days of that and raise the seat to a
    best possible position and away they go. Normal kids learn faster than
    most adults.
