I am looking into buying a headlight system for my mountain bike to do some evening riding and I think I am set on an HID system. However, I am wondering if I should go with the NiMH battery or a Li-Ion. I will be riding no more than about 2 hours per ride, but my concern is with cold weather and how it may affect battery performance. Any help would be appreciated and your input on the best system would be nice, too. (Light & Motion, JetLites, Topeak or NiteRider).

I would highly recommend the JetLite. They are very well made and offer excellent support. However, I'd consider the JetLite Phantom instead of the HID system. It is VERY bright...nearly as bright as the HIS system, and it costs less. Also, the bulb is more durable and cheaper to replace. Call Jim at Jet and talk to him - he is very supportive.

Thanks for the suggestion. I ordered the JetLites StarFire (bar mount) with the Smartswitch and Fuel Gauge and 20W bulb. I got the whole package at www.outdoorsportz.com for $265 and free shipping. They are offering 10% select items and the JetLites qualify. I can't wait to try out the light!!
