Seriously, find a pair of shoes that are comfortable and have appropriate padding and support. However I do believe that shoes are shot after 500 miles. I know from experience.
How does this reconcile with the general advice in books and on the net that walkers should buy walking shoes, not running shoes?
BTW Anybody else notice quality problems with New Balance?
YES! Definitely low...low quality! They are full of defects...the last three pairs I purchased had similar DEFECTS! Also the stitching...isn't smooth.. caused problems... no more NB for me! I've had it! They are LYING to say that the quality is the same as five years ago...it is NOT!
Indeed you can feel it, and it will cause problems. I just spent $400 at the podiatrist as a result of NB's DEFECTIVE low...LOW quality for enormous price shoes! I've more than learned my lesson! THEY ARE CHEAPLY MADE...and DEFINITELY LOW LOW QUALITY! Probably pay the Chinese a quarter a day to cut an sew them....all the rest is PROFIT!!!!
I'm looking for some Converse ones. No more NB!!!
I've used

Well my experience with NB wasn't as dramatic, but they do suck as bad as the rest. My NB's lasted about 400 miles, average by these numbnutz's calculations, but pathetic in comparison to my Asics, which BTW are getting to be [censored] too. Years ago my Asics would last 1000 miles or more. My newest pair are breaking down after 700, so they've dropped in quality too. I guess it's just a sign of the times.
