Thanks to Stuart V for his spare track bike, aka Banana Bike.
Unfortunately, mid-sprint I heard a 'clang' and that was the back wheel
packing it in. (broken spoke, buckled wheel.๐) I wasn't too concerned
though because this ride was simply a slow recovery after my first North
Rd ride this morning (ouch:eek: ).
Oh, and i got the pleasure of watching the VIS Sprinters go through
their paces. ๐

'dromes look like fun. I need to find someone who's as short as me who'd be
prepared to let me have a go ๐
Blackburn has a shed full of trackbikes that get lent to riders who
go to introductory track racing days. I think the hire charge
is about $5 or something. Outdoor velodrone, of course ...

Skills/Novice Clinic
This training session is provided primarily for riders new to track
racing and is available during the period of daylight savings time
through the Summer Track Season.
The objectives are:
* To help new riders become competent and confident enough to join
into other training sessions and to compete on race days;
* To provide a training session for riders to focus on skills
rather than strength and speed;
* To provide a non-intimidating training session that new riders
feel comfortable to attend - and enjoy enough to come back!
* To provide a forum where riders can ask questions on technique,
racing tactics or cycling in general.
Although the intention was to also provide an opportunity for potential
members to come and have a go, our insurance requires that all
participants must have an ACF licence: either a racing licence or a
RideIt licence. Such a licence is obtained through club membership.
Club bikes are available and are free for use by club members. For use
by non BBN members we ask for a donation of $5.00 to assist with
maintenance. If you need to borrow a club bike, or take out club
registration, please be there no later than 6:00 pm.
The evenings can be cold so PLEASE be prepared by bringing warm
clothing. Don't forget your helmet and if you have cycling shoes, bring
not only your shoes but also the matching pedals off your road/mountain
bike.
Thanks, Alan Barnes.
