  1. Following on from the expedition 19 thread, i mentioned that I'd be at the
    Slig campsite on 3rd Oct if anyone was interested. Having found out that
    open April - Oct means shut on Oct 1st (one interpretation I suppose!!) I'll
    be trying out the Carbost bunkhouse instead. Anyone been there?

    Yes, last year about this time. Excellent, except that the drying room
    got a bit busy. Make sure your kit is identifiable ! It works a lot
    better if you leave the light on, since that also makes the extractor
    fan run. There's a tumble drier but it eats lots of coins.

    Attached pub has good food, beer, sometimes live music. General store
    up the road has very limited opening hours. Distillery products are
    highly recommended.

  3. An alternative Bunkhouse which I have used several times is the
    Skyewalker Hostel at Portnalong (further along the road).
