Before people reply to Mr Taylor please be aware that he has a long
history of making a single post of this nature at regular intervals and
then disappearing from the group until he next repeats the process. In
answering his question please realise he is not posting because he wants
to read responses or debate with responders. He just wants to hit and
run with a troll post.

Hopefully with this information, this thread will die with my post.

Can I suggest you look at the 181 posts in the helmet thread you
contributted to on 2nd Dec last year, or the 98 posts in the thread you
contributed to last September, or the helmet post you started on 5th
September this year, or the 173 replies to your helmet post on 7th
September last year, or the 125 replies to the helmet thread you
started on 7th Jun, or the 55 replies to the helmet thread you started
on 4th Feb 2004, or ...

That's several hundred posts you have there - why are you looking for
any more?

Doing that quick search did throw up my favourite quote from you
though:

"I think I am missing something (brain, probably) in this debate about
helmets."

I couldn't have put it better myself.

Hmm, I can't very well bring my bike into the office (cue smug comments
from Brompton owners) and I can't reach my computer keyboard from the
street, so it will be hard for me to tell you what I think of cyclists
who wear a helmet (while on a bike).

However, if you will accept my comments despite me being seated at my
desk, what I think of cyclists who wear a helmet is much the same as
what I think about cyclists who wear shoes and socks.

I can't either. Well, I probably can, but there's very little point in doing
so - it's far easier to get it into the kitchen or living room, rather than
carrying it up the stairs.

Here's a recipe I sometimes use lean braising steak in. A lean cut of troll
should be a suitable substitute for the beef, but just remember to cook for
a long time (trolls can be a bit stringy, so require long, slow cooking).

2lbs beef (or troll)
couple of bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale
1 large onion, sliced
couple of large carrots, sliced
large parsnip, sliced.
1 organic beef stock cube (never spotted organic troll stock cubes in any
supermarket)
freshly ground black pepper & mixed herbs to taste

Brown the beef or troll in a pan that can be transferred to the oven.
Add onion & stir until onion starts to go translucent
Add carrot & parsnip & cook, stirring all time for another 5 - 10 mins
Pour in Newcastle Brown Ale (keeping a bit off Broon back to drink yourself)
Add stock cube.
Stir

Place laid on above & then put in oven (Gas 4/180C) for 2.5 hrs.

Should be done to a treat, with the troll suitably tender for eating.

Serve with buttery mashed potatoes.

Enjoy.

I have a variant on that recipe (some say its the original Newcastle
version). Place troll, onion, carrots, parsnip and stock cube in bin,
serve Newky Brown in bottle.

Not a chance of that happening - eg it's fairly obvious that plenty of
