I have been taking omega 3 supplements but want to know if omega 3
something that can be added to a recipe? How? Thanks. Are there any omega-3
enriched foods?

Mario,
I use a coffee grinder to grind flaxseeds and then put it in my
smoothies. I eat salmon salad sandwiches quite a bit. Fish and
especially salmon have a lot of good fatty acids in them. Do a google
search for omega 3 fatty acids. Here is what the American Heart
Association says:We recommend eating fish (particularly fatty fish) at least two times
a week. Fish is a good source of protein and doesn't have the high
saturated fat that fatty meat products do. Fatty fish like mackerel,
lake trout, herring, sardines, albacore tuna and salmon are high in two
kinds of omega-3 fatty acids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and
docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).To learn about omega-3 levels for different types of fish - as well
as mercury levels, which can be a concern - see our Encyclopedia
entry on Fish, Levels of Mercury and Omega-3 Fatty Acids. We also recommend eating tofu and other forms of soybeans, canola,
walnut and flaxseed, and their oils. These contain alpha-linolenic acid
(LNA), which can become omega-3 fatty acid in the body.I hope this information helps you,

Bumble Bee makes a Pink Salmon that tastes quite a bit like
tuna. Substitute it for tuna. Higher in Omega-3s.Walnuts. About half of flaxseed but easier to eat.
Canola Oil. About half of flaxseed but cheaper and easier to
use.locker

of salmon - very nice.Quoted message said:

MarioIf you want the cardiovascular protection of omega-3, you should
differentiate between generic (short-chain) omega-3 and long-chain.
The primary long chain 03's are EPA and DHA.These are to my knowledge not readily available in large quantities
except from animal sources -- the only one I know about is salmon.
There may be others, but this is the one I count on.I started taking 1 to 1.5 grams per day of EPA/DHA via good quality
(i.e. deep water, low in heavy metal contaminant) salmon oil, and my
cholesterol levels, especially LDL, plummeted after a year. Overall
blood cholesterol from 240 to 146.Mason Barge
