Does anybody come across any independent verification of this?

The typical spew from the Mirror is anti-American garbage. So before we all
call our congresscritters and raise hell, it would seem prudent to get some
form of verification...

I sent emails to him and my senators. No reply yet.

Take it from me, one of the locals - the Mirror is little more than a
comic. The story *could* be true, but on the other hand I wouldn't be
the slightest bit surprised if it turns out to be complete BS...
