Didn't you have that low hematocrit (sp?) problem a couple of years ago
when you dropped at mile 16, iirc? Man, you gotta nick it soon and for good.
Have you thought about diet changes in addition to the iron supplements?

--I didn't know for sure what it was then, I thought it was just overtraining.
I had bloodwork done several months later and was told it was not anemia. In
retrospect it was, though it is even more severe now. 🙁
My diet is pretty good with no shortage of iron sources. I'm on supplemental
now and considering trying to push for an iron IV.

I had a similar problem back when I was light and running 95 mpw and 2:3x.
I suddenly dropped back to running 35:xx 10k's (which was traumatic then,
    now I'd kill for that...)

I was a vegetarian, and my cholesterol was very low, like 12x.

I went to several doctors, and there was nothing that far out of spec.
Nowadays research indicates that very low cholesterol is *not* good. Also
re Iron, you can have ok blood levels and low bone stores and that can mess
    you up.

I went back to eating chicken and meat (not a huge amt) and more fat.
Within a few weeks I returned to prior form. I also took iron suppliments.

---Interesting...my cholesterol is 105. The research I read linked the
low cholesterol to stroke risk in the elderly, not anything that should
affect running. I eat plenty of meat and am not too huge on reducing fat,
the only thing I do with regards to that is eat lean venison instead of
fatty red beef. I go to McDonalds a couple times a month so that should
    boost it up, right?
