  1. I'm on induction in South Beach, where no fruit is allowed. I'm
wondering about grapefruit; yes, it's a fruit, but I seem to remember
hearing somewhere that it's either relatively low carb or has a low
glycemic index or is in some other way more LC-friendly than other
    fruit.

    Anyone have any insight?

    Thanks,

    Sammy

OK, but for down the road? Fruit gets added back in in a few days for
me, and if I want to have fruit, is there any particular advantage for
    grapefruit being it?

You can read about this at the South Beach web site:

    http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/shoppinglist_p2.htm

Reading is so much better than "Seeming to remember".

Google search "South Beach diet grapefruit" turned up a lot of information.

Well, compared to some other possibilities, yes. Raisins, for example, are
very sweet. Any juice packed fruits with sugar added would be less good. I
personally would recommend berries over grapefruit, but I don't really see a
reason you can enjoy some grapefruit on your plan. It's allowed. I don't
think it has any particular advantage over other allowed fruits, however.

  6. Grapefruit is not low carb.

  8. 'pears to me that it could be included in a LC plan if one's CCLL were
    high (like 60-100).

  9. Is that high CCLL thing working for you, or are you still fat as ever?
