And to follow up again... just had a butchers at that trailer at the
EBC website, price seems good, especially as it includes the big bag.
The folding facility could be a real boon too, for packing away, or in
with the bike for airline travel etc.

I thought it was rather cheeky of EBC to put "Bob's your uncle" in the
write up for it, heh.

Indeed! Though if someone asks me about my YaK and how much it cost I might
well point them at the EBC one.

It does look excellent value next to an original Yak.

fit only so many cauliflowers in a pannier. I'll wait to read the
review in VeloVision, if they like it, I think I'll have one.

It appears that EBC now do free delivery on orders over 20 quid, which
is a welcome development.

The EBC one isn't (yet) reviewed in VV. My cauliflower quotient has now
gone up. I fitted sides to Worf tonight so it should be possible to fit
a good amount of veg in there now. I could probably get all the
potatoes (probably a good 50-100kg still in the ground), the pumpkins
(2 of which are significant in size, ie >0.5m diameter), the parsnips
and the cabbages in. Towing it up the 1 in 8 hill the allotment
entrance is on would be interesting though..

I don't have any cauliflowers...

It was fun doing the recycling run this morning. I had to be shot of an
old car battery, a 20kg bag of plaster and various other odds and ends.
No problems at all getting it there on the trailer. And I did come back
with an old 16" wheeled bike for another project...

I had thought when you mentioned it in your post that it was reviewed
in this issue, but reading back up I see you didn't actually say that.
Not to worry, Im quite capable of frittering away my money without any
help from VV.

You are Tom Good, AICMFP.

I'm super impressed with your home build David. I'd happily have a
bash myself at a DIY project, but don't currently have access to a
suitably equipped Shed. My welding skills are pretty rudimentary
though so I'd probably have to buy one anyway, after all the swearing
and the spatter burns had healed.

Ah, yes. I have to be very careful when visiting my local tip not to
come back with more in bikes and parts than I took in rubbish. The
garage (front room and spare bedroom) contains too many as it is.

My welding is not very good either. I have definitely overcooked the
bronze in various places, the mitring is poor and the alignment of the
wheels would not be acceptable in a commercial product. (The photos are
cunningly taken to avoid seing just how out of true the wheels are ..
one is aout 5 degrees off vertical, and the other 5 degrees or so off
straight. It should be possible to redo the two joints each side that
matter to sort this out but it works well enough)

I have a good sized garage that even fits the car in as well (which was
feeling decidedly grumpy yesterday as I hardly ever take it out any
more.

So far I have (apart from the odd bits lying around.) One blackholium
MTB frame to which I will do something in due course, with bouncy
forks. One Raleigh Arena to turn into a fixie (I have a brazed up
freehub to use with some old uniglide sprockets for that - just have to
rebuild the hub into the old Arena wheel or get a new rim and spokes.)
A Dawes Kingpin folder, and a 16" girls bike to turn into a child sized
spincycle. Still on the hunt for a few old BMX to play with, might
build a Bugsy Malone style velocar.. or a sofabike.
