This is a new one for me. I normally stick to crooked neck, accorn or
spaghetti squash. My area orchard has potato squash so of course when I
saw them I just had to buy one. According to
http://www.foodsubs.com/Squash.html it has a creamy pulp that tastes a
bit like sweet potatoes. I can't wait to try this squash! It is rather
pretty looking too. I bought 5 squash total - 3 acorn (my favourite), 1
spaghetti, and 1 potato as well as L-star apples. It's cook, rainy and
icky out today so it will be a good cooking day 🙂 I'll be canning
applesauce and freezing some of the squash. I'm thinking peanut butter
cookies might be in order too. Then I have a nice family pack of lean
ground beef that I might turn into meat loaves since the oven will be on
anyway. I'm going to a dinner theater with the girls tonight so I'm off
the hook for cooking dinner. The meal is salmon or chicken scallopenie
(sp) with all the fixings and a variety of cheesecakes to choose from
for desert or apple dumplings if you choose. This place can really cook.
It is well known for miles around! Entertainment is a theatre group
that is downright hilarious. You honestly split your sides laughing.
Their members are professional actors/actresses that appear on network
tv. They appear at this establishment 4 times a year as a special
favour to the owner. We are so very fortunate to enjoy this type of
high end show. I'm thinking I will have a light salad for lunch
followed by perhaps a very light snack of an apple and yogurt just to
save room for dinner 🙂

All in one day 🙂 I packaged up yesterday's homemade spaghetti sauce
with meat for the freezer. I ended up with 10 quarts. Somehow getting
going today was hard even though I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
I'm just waiting for the jars to can up the applesauce that is already
made. Meatloaf and cookies are next then I will have to get cleaned up
to go out. You are more than welcomed to come. It should be a grand time!
